Hey! I'm attempting to write a novel set in the world of 1980's glam metal :) I have the story itself pretty much mapped out, save for a couple of little details...
One of my characters is the lead guitarist and one of the principle songwriters for his band (from LA), who have just completed a tour comparable to Motley Crue's "Shout at the Devil" or Bon Jovi's "7800 Farenheit" tours. In other words, they aren't international superstars yet, but neither are they unknowns (I planned for the tour to take place throughout the US, and a couple of days across Europe; what do you guys think of this? Which specific locations?)
My other question relates to this character's money. At this stage in his career, having just completed this tour, and released a few albums, as well as played festivals and opened for other artists, how much money do you think he's have?
So far people have said he'd be a middle-class American citizen, with enough wealth to buy a nice house and a decent car; but hardly a mansion or a private zoo type of guy.
